Tidbits - 8/6/04

+A few days ago, Rudy Giuliani said that he did not need Michael Moore to tell him about 9/11. Now the former mayor of New York is criticizing Kerry on his 9/11 stance or lack of stance.

+Lawyers for the Democratic National committee and John Kerry have written to several television stations advising the NOT to run a commercial for Vietnam Veterans Against Kerry. This is an unprecedented attempt at censorship taken during a Presidential Campaign. It obviously violates the First Amendment and is clearly prior restraint.

The Kerry campaign lawyers say that the ads are "false" and "libelous." Hey lawyers, have you ever read the New York Times v. Sullivan case? A public figure, like John Kerry, cannot be labeled.

While the Dems are actively working against the First Amendment, it is interesting that the Republicans did not move against MoveOn.org for their continued ads comparing Bush with Hitler?

Come DNC what are you afraid of, the truth?
