Tidbits - 8/30/04

+Well, it has already started.

Between the Sunday talk shows and Tom Brokaw, you would think that the Republicans are on vacation and all you can find are Democrats willing to talk.

All of the Sunday talk shows featured democrats bashing Bush with only a few moments for Republicans.

Tim Russert even tried to bash Rudy Giuliani on his difference with the Republican Platform. Well, at least, the Republicans have a platform there are willing to defend or disagree with. The Dems had a mere outline of a platform with no firm stand on any issue.

Hell, Tim, even I disagree with parts of the Republican platform, but I still consider myself a Republican.

Tom Brokaw, on the other hand, said the convention speakers were part of a "con game." Right, Tom, and the Dems tried to hide their liberal record. Remember Kerry glossed over his Senate record.

After all is said and done, Bush will still get a 5 to 10 point bounce and be able to keep it.

+You may recall that the Powell State Department invited a team of foreign election observers for the presidential election.

Powell who this reporter no longer sees as a part of the Bush team and should be replaced as soon as possible, invited the observers.

Now, it has been reported that the head of this team is an impeached Federal Judge currently a US rep from Florida. Alcee Hastings was impeached by Congress for taking bribes among other crimes.

So, it follows that observers from the corrupt and incompetent UN would be corrupt.

This will be a disaster.

+Here's a preview of some of the rhetoric that will be heard during the RNC.

This includes a comment from John McCain (R-AZ) about Kerry's anti-war comments being fair game.

+Now this is interesting. The Kerry daughters were cheered and jarred at the MTV Awards. And the boos won.

Seems that even the MTV crowd is not fully committed to Kerry.
