In what will become a battle of liberals vs conservative, the Illinois Republican Party has selected ambassador, commentator Alan Keyes as its candidate for the Senate seat vacated by Peter Fitzgerald.
This will be a classic match-up between a Federalist conservative and a young, brash liberal.
Obama who gained public awareness after giving a marginal speech at the DNC is a state senator from Illinois. Keyes, a resident of Maryland, is a seasoned politician who ran for the senate and presidency on two different occasions.
Illinois you better buckle up cause it's going to be a bumpy ride.

While it is official that the Illinois Republican Party has offered the nomination to conservative Alan Keyes, Mr. Keyes has not yet accepted and will wait until Sunday to make a final decision.
