Keyes Steps Into Illinois Senate Race

It is finally official. After six weeks of looking like the party "that couldn't shoot straight", The Illinois Republican Party has a US Senate candidate.

Yesterday, Alan Keyes, the former presidential hopeful and talk show host accepted the nomination.

The nomination is not without its controversy. Mr. Keyes is not a resident of Illinois and was critical of Sen. Hillary Clinton's run as a candidate from New York.

He did explain, however, that MS Clinton was shopping from state to state for a race whereas Mr. Keyes was approached by the Illinois Republicans.

It will be an interesting race with a far left Democrat, Barack Obama, and conservative, Alan Keyes.

Stay tuned for more.
