Tidbits - 9/2/04

The liberal media is having a fun day today.

The Zell Miller and Dick Cheney speeches are the targets.

Both are described as mean spirited, but Miler's speech is being compared to Pat Buchanan's speech in 1992. There is no comparison. Miller was telling the truth about John Kerry's Senate record. Something that Kerry cannot run away from and the liberal media should not (but is is) igone.

When the media calls the Miller and Cheney speeches "harsh" and "ugly" they are forgetting the speeches of Ted Kennedy, Al Sharpton, and Jimmy Carter at the DNC. Of course, this lack of memory on the part of the liberal media is on purpose and planned.

+I was wondering how protesters were getting into Madison Square Garden to dirupt or attempt to disrupt proceedings.

I now have the answer. It appears that delegates and guests are GIVING AWAY passes to the convention floor to just about anyone who asks. A reporter from the New York Daily News discovered this and within five hours had a pass to hear the Vice President's speech. On his way into the Garden security let him through WITHOUT checking his ID and matching it to the pass.

This is incredible.

+John Kerry's reception at the American Legion COnvention was not as warm as the liberl media would have you believe.

There were no boos, but many attendees sat quiety without applause.

Kerry's speech did, however, change some minds . . . toward Bush.

Kerry Not So "Swift"

+A request for an investigation into the citation and award of John Kerry's Silver Star may soon start.

According to a complaint there are three problesm with the award.

First, the citation includes a "V" designation. "V" for valor. The armed services do NOT award the "V" designation for the Silver Star. The Silver Star is the third highest award by the armed services.

Second, one of the citations for the Silver Star was signed by former Secretary of the Navy John Lehman. Lehman says that he does not know how there could be such a citation. He did not see it. He did not approve it. And he did not sign it. He does adnit that it could have been signed by an autopen, but he did not approve it.

Third, there are three different citations for Kerry's Silver Star. Each citation tells the story differently. Something that Navy officials call unusual.

So, that makes at least four of the five medals Kerry "won" are under question.
