Good News From Gallup

The Gallup Poll is one of the most respected and accurate polls.

Bush's lead in Gallup isn't quite as large as Time and Newsweek, but there's still a lot of good news for the president:
Likely voters: Bush 52, Kerry 45.

Among likely voters pulling the lever for Kerry, 46 percent say it's a vote FOR Kerry; 50 percent say it's a vote AGAINST Bush.
Among likely voters pulling the lever for Bush, 82 percent say it's a vote FOR Bush, 15 percent say it's a vote AGAINST Kerry.

Among voters who are certain they will vote, Bush 48, Kerry 40.

Bush job approval at 52.
Who would do better job on the economy: Kerry 49, Bush 46
Who would do better job on Iraq: Bush 54, Kerry 41
Who would do better job on terrorism: Bush 61, Kerry 34
Who would do better job on health care: Kerry 53, Bush 40

I will make a fairly obvious prediction: John Kerry will not win the presidency in today's world if 61 percent of voters think Bush would do a better job than him on dealing with terrorism.

UPDATE: Another thought: The race will get tighter between now and Election Day, unless Kerry as a 'Dean episode.' Fox News just showed a labor union member at a Kerry rally, screaming at the top of his lungs into a microphone that 'Bush and Cheney were dodging the draft,' in a manner somewhat reminiscent of the 'I have a scream' speech."

All you have to do is look at Kerry's feeble performance on Thursday plus his performance over the weekend and on Labor Day and you KNOW that Kerry is in full panic mode.

He will not win the debates and he will not win the election and it will not be close.

It really doesn't matter who the Kerry campaign hires at this late juncture. He will lose and if John Edwards were smart, he would begin to distance himself from the Kerry rhetoric in order to be viable in 2008.
