Tidbits - 9/14/04

Like the Swift Boat Veterans it seems that the forged Bush documents are going to stay in the news for several more cycles. The main problem with that is that major news organizations will continue to read from the documents instead of reporting on their authenticity.

There are now questions about one of CBS' "principal sources."

And former CBS correspondent turned author Bernard Goldberg is weighing with his opinion of Dan Rather.

Although the evidence against the authenticity is growing daily, Dan Rather wasted viewers time again by presenting yet another lame "editorial" about the documents. Rather says, "they could be authentic."

Rather and CBS News refuse to give "direct answers" as to the source and agenda of the person giving CBS News the documents.

Again, it is time for CBS to step forward and admit Rather's duplicity in the "scandal," and finally do something to regain CBS News' credibility.

+Author Kitty Kelly lost her credibility years ago. She has written, mostly false, biographies of Ronald Reagan and Frank Sinatra. Now she is attacking the Bush family. As usual her book is full of unmanned and uncorrobrative sources.

Once again, many of the people named in the book are saying she either did not ask the question or they did not answer the question as quoted.

Many news organizations are backing away from Kelly with the exception of NBC.
