Not quite over

On Thursday, the Supreme Court announced its decision on the constitutionality of Obamacare.

For some institutions, the legal fight is not over.  While the court decided on the constitutionality of the mandate - it's a tax - it did not decide the cases filed by several Catholic institutions on the contraceptive mandate.  These cases have little to do with the overall mandate, but the rules promulgated by the Health and Human Services department.  These rules required employers to provide contraception as part of an employees healthcare.

Catholic tradition and tenets do not allow participation in contraception and have not allowed it in health plans offered to employees.  The focus of the suit is whether a government can force religious institutions to do something that is against their teachings.  The institutions filing the suit, obviously, say no.  The Obama administration says you must.  Obviously, the Obama administration does not believe in the separation of church and state.
