Wednesday Briefing - 5.11.05 - Capitol and White House Evacuated

Good morning . . .

Fox News is reporting that the Capitol building, the White House, and the Supreme Court are being evacuated. The concern is an aircraft that entered the no fly zone over Washington.

Sometimes the media doesn't really care how far left and out-of-touch it becomes.

Tuesday's Today show id a prime example. Reporter Campbell Brown decided that it would be a good idea to distance Sen. Hillary Clinton from the trial of David Rosen. On numerous occasions she reminded the audience that Clinton was not a target of the investigation and the trial was about David Rosen. Yes, Campbell, we know that, but you failed to mention other aspects of the case that may eventually draw Clinton into the criminal trial of Rosen, a civil suit filed by Peter Paul, and the ethics complaint filed by Judicial Watch.

Sources say Clinton was aware of her campaign finances, was aware of the true cost of the August 2000 fundraiser, and micro-managed her campaign finances.

Meanwhile, PBS is worried. They are worried about changes at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). What PBS should be worried about is the continuation of left-leaning programming.

When Bill Moyers left the program 'Now,' producers said the new version of the program would be more balanced and fair. They also claimed the program was already balanced and Bill Moyers was not a liberal. I wonder what they were smoking? Bill Moyers only slightly to the right of Ted Kennedy and John Kerry. He used 'Now' to bash the Bush administration at every opportunity.

'Now' has a new host and some new contributors. David Brancaccio hosts the Friday night program, but has added far-left bombthrower Janeane Garofolo whose credential are questionable. Garofolo takes every opportunity on her Air America program to bash anything and anyone that does not agree with her.

On the latest program Brancaccio and Garofolo teamed up to bash former congressman Bob Barr. Barr, while a Republican, is very moderate and does not support most Bush administration policies.

When Barr supported judicial nominees, Brancaccio and Garofolo pounced saying that many of the nominees were "kooks." It was obvious that fair and balanced did not exist on the new version of 'Now."

With Garofolo taking point, Brancaccio said conservatives distort reality.

With programs like 'Now' PBS should be worried. They are forgetting that under the Public Broadcasting Act, they are to present a balanced view in programming. 'Now' and most other news and public affairs programming on PBS fail to meet that legal requirement. Hopefully, the new management at CPB will help them find their way.
